My students have been a great motivation for me to follow this career. When I teach them I feel that I love what I am doing, to see their face full of happiness and saying miss, miss and giving me lot of hugs is really a gift.
When I started to do my practice I was very nervous because I didn´t know how they were going to receive me, but they were so nice.
The 5th grade is a course where you can find different kind of personalities, there are students that have a lot of problems of concentration, to understand and be quiet. Also there are students shy and disciplined.
They usually are seat in groups of four, the classroom's organization help me to move around, but sometimes it is a factor for talking among classmates.
They are not enough motivated in class and I think it is because they are constantly moving and maybe is because most of the time the are writing grammar from the white board an it is so boring for them . I suggested that we can do more interactive classes with them, for example role plays, dialogues, games. and also use a lot of visual support like flashcards in colors, power points with music and karaokes in english. All these activities can be fun for them , because they are at the age that they just want to play, jump and move around.
I had many opportunities to do activities with them . For example Once the teacher asked me if I could do a class but using the material that she had prepared and it was grammar. The students were very untidy because the activity was really boring . I didn´t want to shout at them but I had to do it.
I observed that they had respect more for some teacher than others, a teacher that always scream at them can control them but I think is not the way.
I am looking for the best way to keep student's discipline, exploring myself and observing them.
In 7th grade at the beginning I didn´t have much feeling with them because they are shyer so was difficult to get confidence, but when the days were passing they started to talk more with me and asked me some question and doubts.
I had to move around observing them , try to learn every name, ask if they had doubts, help them with their tasks and then they could be more comfortable with my presence.
In discipline problems I didn´t have much troubles because they just talk among them but nothing more.
How I talked with some students I could listen about how they think the activities are, and about theirs answers I believe that with these student I can realize different activities, for example some songs, create stories, speaking activities, projects in groups.
In 8h grade there is a group of boys that often produce noise in the class, but they also are participatory in class so their only problem is that they disturb the class.
These students acquired confidence immediatly, they always asked me for help and also I have done classes with them and they have been participatory and be available.
